oneAn
uphill straightway par 4 starts your day. A right to left tee
shot needs to avoid the left fairway bunker. Consider taking a
bit more club on the approach on this smallish , narrow green.
Leaving it short will yield pars, long is not good. |
twoThe
traditional allure of the Par 3 second is a favorite of
mine. The classic bunkering awaits the less than perfect shot
and those who choose to play from the tips will be scratching their
heads on this one. |
three
The
reachable Par 5 third begins a stretch of holes that can provide
scoring opportunities for those who got game. Keep it straight
and success will follow. An accurate play to the small rolling
green protected by the left bunker and by trouble long and right
will be rewarded. |
four
The
two majestic Firs provide target off the tee. Before playing
to the green beware of the pin position. With any pin left,
the wise play is to the middle of the green. The front left
bunker is no bargain. |
five
The fifth is a classic risk/reward three
shotter. There is more room on the left than it looks, but not
much more!. If the courage is not there, then two good lay ups and a
wedge to this "popped-up" green will provide a birdie
chance. Anything short will likely meet a watery grave. |
six
Take
a breath and watch the Herons fly by, but don't let them affect your
tee ball. The second shot may look easy, but the smallest
green on the course is surrounded on all sides by wetlands.
Take time to read your putt, as there is more borrow there then you
might expect! |
seven
A
good downhill Par 4 requiring a right to left tee shot. The
longer hitters will have no more than a wedge to a green that falls
away. Attacking a back pin leaves no room for error an the
tough chip from over the green will test the best of players. |
eight
Yes
there is a green up there and so are some of the best views on the
course. A high soft shot to the corner side of the green is
called for here, and is no bargain. Par will win most of the
time! |
nine
A
wonderful finish to the front nine. Be careful no to
drive it through the fairway here avoiding the pond. After a
good drive this hole should yield some birdies to good iron
play. Don't let the gallery from the clubhouse disturb your
concentration. |
tenThe
back nine opens with a classic dogleg left Par 4. A play to
the right center of the fairway will open up the green protected on
the left by two small bunkers. Not many birdies here! |
elevenDon't
be deceived by the length! A three metal, long-iron tee shot down
the left side will open up the shot approach to a green tucked
nicely amongst the mature trees. Take time to look up as this
may be the only Eagle chance you get! |
twelveA
great looking Par 3. The green is
more receptive and larger than it appears. Pick the right club
and don't mess with the back left pin placement! |
thirteenStand
on the tee and admire this three shot beauty. The ten classic
bunkers are not to be reckoned with.
Three, straight, well-executed shots are needed. Par
here deserves a hearty "well done". |
fourteenWetlands,
trees and bunkers, few golf holes capture the power and charm of
this Par 4. Take aim at the right fairway bunker off the
tee. The approach is to a long, narrow green. An
aggressive play for the back pin placement could lead to a big
number. |
fifteenThe
only trick on this Par 3 is convincing yourself of the
yardage. There is more green than you can see from the
tee. Take enough club, watch the swirling winds and take your
best "A-Game Swing". Par is a welcome score here. |
sixteenThe
secret to seven is the tee shot. Lay up short of the right
bunker with a three metal or try and fit your tee ball in the
narrows past it. If you risk the long drive and succeed you
will be left with a short iron approach to a green that is deeper
than it appears. |
seventeenThe
classic middle bunker needs to be avoided off the tee. There
is a lot of fairway beyond, so relax and give it a go. The
approach to the large "popped-up" green must be precisely
struck as hazards await right, left and long. |
eighteenThis
finishing hole, like any good Par 5, will yield plenty of birdies,
but also bogies. Avoid the bunkers and be aware the
challenging green. Our resident eagles may be watching as you
make your way back to the clubhouse. |
